Why do you ride bikes?
The wind in my face, and aahhh the freedom!
What got you into riding bikes?
Just the fact that you could just hop on those 2 wheels, and they could take you anywhere you wanted to go. No limits.
Your favorite place to ride?
Kicking Horse, Mt. Tremblant, Mont Saint Anne
When was the first time you remember riding off on your own, and then your Mom being so worried then you got home because you were gone forever?
I was 10, and I took off to the corner store without telling anyone. I ran into a bunch of friends, and lost track of time. I finally was on my way home (really late) got around the corner, just in time to meet up with my Mom. I was grounded. Again.
Best over the handlebar moment?
When I was 5, I refused to put my helmet on to go to the mailbox with my Mom. She told me that I couldn’t go without my helmet on – so, I put it on, and while on my little ride to the mailbox – over the bars I went! Lesson learned: Wear your helmet!
Fastest time you ever had to ride?
I’m always late coming home from friend’s places. Seems no matter how fast I rode to get home – I was still always late, and in trouble!
Most memorable race?
Racing at Nationals last year in Massif du Sud, Quebec. I had the honor of representing Alberta at Nationals, which was a very memorable moment for me.
Funniest thing you have ever heard?
Lady Ga Ga!
Funniest thing you have ever seen?
My friend flying down a hill on his bike, he couldn’t stop, and crashed into the frog pond – good thing he wasn’t hurt, but he was covered in leeches when he climbed out. He was freaked out!
Favorite people to ride with besides the Clan?
I enjoy riding with my friends, my Dad & brother, Logan. Also, definitely, Reg Mullett – he’s a lot of fun to ride with.
Goals?
Definitely placing well in the Canada Cup series, and racing Nationals again. If I could ever be fortunate enough to get to Worlds, I would be so stoked. Totally unrelated to biking, I would like to get into Kinesiology after High School.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I still hope to be riding, and to be at a job, where I’d be lucky enough to still be able to ride.
Best trick you have ever pulled?
A toboggan ha ha – I don’t do many tricks
Joke?
I don’t think I can tell it on here : )
What are your riding goals for next season?
Next season, my riding goals would be to place well at the Canada Cup series, and get out to the BC Cup series, as well as the AB series. It will definitely be a full summer for me.
Are you involved in the riding community in your area? If so how?
I’m involved in the Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society (MMBTS) I take part in their many trail maintenance days, which is my way of giving back to the riding community. I enjoy riding the many trails out at Moose, so I feel it’s an important way to give back for the privilege of being able to ride out there.
